FormPal Shutdown

After one and a half years, FormPal will be turned off at the end of December 2021. Here's the timeline

• November 7th: No new FormPal accounts can be created. Existing accounts will continue to work. Email notice sent to all active accounts.
• December 10th: Any accounts that have recently taken a payment will be sent a reminder to migrate off of FormPal.
• January 1st, 2022: No new payment links can be created. Any accounts taking payments will be sent another urgent reminder.
• January 15th, 2022: FormPal will stop processing payments for existing links.

FAQ

Should I cancel my account? You don’t need to cancel anything since you won’t be charged for FormPal unless you use it.

Why is FormPal shutting down? FormPal is a side project, and has always been more of a labor of love than a business. I’m extremely grateful that people have found it useful and have been willing to pay for the service. Sadly it requires ongoing support and technical work that I won’t be able to continue providing indefinitely.

What will happen to my card information? If you have provided a credit for the service fee, your card on file will be deleted after FormPal shuts down next January. Until then you will only be charged the regular service fee if you continue to take payments of more than $100 in a month.

What can I use instead? There are many form builder systems outside of Google Forms that support payments, for example JotForm, PaperForm, and Formsite among many others. I suggest shopping around! There are also some options for Google Forms - Neartail is one that looked very nice after a brief test. I have no relationship with any of these products and haven't used any of them extensively.

Can I access my payment history after January 15th?Yes, there will be an option to download your FormPal payment history for a time after FormPal shuts down. If you need this, reach out to me by emailing support@paybyform.com.

Is it possible to get an extension on this timeline? No, I’m hoping that two months should be plenty of time but if it isn’t I’m sadly not able to keep supporting the product past that date.
