Setting up payments

This quick video shows you how to set up payments. Briefly:

  1. Open the addon menu (it looks like a puzzle piece) and click FormPal
  2. Enter your PayPal email if prompted
  3. Enter the amount to charge in a format like "$1.00", "1.00", "$1", or "1".

This will create a payment question and add it to your form. You can change the title of this question, but it's very important not to change the link or the validation pattern. Changing those will prevent FormPal from working properly.

If you want to change the amount you charge, simply delete the old payment question and generate a new one from the FormPal menu. You can then drag it into the position where the old question was before.

Creating multiple pricing options

FormPal can't calculate pricing on the fly, but it's possible to use branching logic to create different paths through a form that lead to different FormPal payment questions. Here is a good tutorial on branching logic in forms. One time-saving option is to set up FormPal questions for the most common types of orders or responses, and to sand an invoice for the other cases.

This video shows how to set up a form with 3 different payment options and a custom order that will defer payment until later.

Matching up responses in PayPal

Each FormPal receipt code corresponds to a single transaction in your PayPal dashboard. Here's an example code with the transaction ID highlighted:

91664-3FM156088L674642D

Using this ID, you can search for the transaction at PayPal.com. Follow these steps:

  1. Access your PayPal.com account.
  2. Click the Activities menu option.
  3. Select Transaction ID in the search drop-down menu.
  4. Enter the transaction ID and press Enter.

Menu options aren't showing up

There is a bug in Google Forms that sometimes keeps menu items from showing up when you install a new addon. If you've just installed FormPal and your menu shows only the "Help" option, try completely reloading the page.
